Ab Initio models

    Today, quantum mechanics and particularly quantum electrodynamics is known as one of the most successful theories as it can account for observables like the cross section of Compton scattering at remarkable precision. If a good ab initio model can recreate the observables seen in nature, then clearly QM is an ab initio model for the dynamics of the photons and electrons. CM can also be regarded this for the motion of the planets and the precession of a top. Classical ENM is a good approximation for some behavior of photons and quantum particles, but cannot recreate all the dynamics observed in nature.
