Ab initio models

Quantum Physiscs are called ab initio models because they are based in the Schrödinger equations. Solving these equations leads to the correct answer of solid state problems.
For Classical Mechanics, Newtons equations have to be solved if you want to predict a movement/behavior of an observable fact in nature.
If you deal with a classical electromagnetism problem, you should solve the Maxwell Equations.
