    we call quantum physics an ab initio model because we try to model the physical phenomena just using some principles. Classical mechanics and electromagnetism may be considered ab initio models as long as we do not use any adjustable parameters to fit the experimental data, and as long as we just use the principal laws. for electromagnetism, I’m not sure, but I think the Gauss-Maxwell-Faraday are the principles.
