Ab initio model

When we call something as an ab initial model, it means no one knows why it works, but we don’t need other assumptions and models. To explain and predict natural phenomena, scientists have assumed lots of fundamental laws, and the survivals are such as quantum mechanics, Newton’s law. Yes, classical electromagnetism is one of them, and its first principle is the Coulomb’s law.
