Quantum physics and classical mechanics are ab initio models because both are based on laws describing the physics of our universe and only with solving the equations (in the case of QP the Schrödinger equation. and for CM the equations of Newton eqs.), we can explain, describe and also predict the behavior of physical phenomena.
The classical electromagnetism is not an ab initio model because it is an extension of classical mechanics.
